Mercy Choguya

Creating Taunina teddy bears is extra special for Mercy, because her mom also used to make teddy bears. Every day, she is reminded of a happy childhood in Zimbabwe, where she grew up with her brother and two sisters. In Zim, she was a housewife, looking after her husband and two children; today she is one of Taunina’s best embroiderers, who is passionate about mixing colours together into breath-taking tapestries.

She loves jazz and singles out Robben Island as her most inspirational image.
