Changing lives one stitch at a time

Artistry

Only the highest quality fabric is used to produce Taunina collections. Each creation consists of many layers and each colourway is carefully considered. Delicate patterns, from iconic fabric houses such as Liberty of London and Sanderson, are used to create Taunina’s signature look. Fabrics and threads are made from 100% natural fibres and all dyes used are completely safe for children.

Heritage

The artistry of appliqué and embroidery is over 2,000 years old. The word ‘appliqué’ is derived from the French verb ‘appliquer’, meaning ‘to put on’, and involves the art of decorating one piece of fabric with another piece of fabric. In African cultures, artists used appliqué in the way Egyptians used hieroglyphs: to document and describe historical events and note the reigns of particular kings.

Taunina embellishes its works of art using intricately drawn imagery cut from luxurious pieces of fabric, which are then appliquéd and embroidered on to a solid base to create a delightful visual treat.
